July 17, 2022 was our first online meeting with our supervisor. After a brief self-introduction, the teacher and supervisor explained to us the upcoming internship tasks and precautions. The atmosphere of this meeting was very harmonious. At the end, the supervisor suggested that our group needed a leader. Considering that my personality was very suitable, I recommended myself and became the group leader. In the following internship, I led the group members to complete a project together. Task.
At the beginning of the internship, the tasks were relatively simple. I needed to read some articles related to international politics and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These are also areas that I am interested in and have relevant knowledge background, so it is not difficult to deal with them. After reading it, I also sent some of my opinions and questions to my supervisor by email. My questions were well received by him, and he also gave patient and detailed answers, which moved me very much.
Then came our first difficulty, we had to assist UNESCO candidates in their election campaigns. This is difficult for us. The team members and I discussed where to start. After repeated communications with the supervisor and rounds of consultations with the team members, we followed the instructions and divided them into Strategy, Communication , Program and Election, and finally summarized our respective results as a complete campaign plan and submitted it to the supervisor. The plan was continuously polished and updated in the following time. Finally, at a meeting in September, we produced a PPT and I introduced the campaign plan to candidate Ms. K on behalf of the entire group. This task came to an end.
After deciding on the topic, the group members and I started writing. Due to special circumstances, we needed to change the topic, which caught us off guard. When you encounter difficulties, you have to find ways to solve them. The new theme is Universal Culture. My supervisor also gave me some new documents. After reading them, I suddenly felt inspired. We decided to combine some of the ideas in the new theme with our country’s ” Connected with the concept of “a community with a shared future for mankind”, Universal and Shared Future have similar approaches and approaches. This is the exchange and collision of Eastern and Western civilizations. After we had the idea, we quickly wrote the article and handed it to our supervisor in the last week. It received high praise, which gave us a sense of accomplishment.
This is my first internship in my life. I have met many new friends. We all come from different schools and majors, but we completed a successful internship together. My English ability, French ability, reading and writing ability and communication skills have been greatly improved. Especially when communicating with my supervisor, I personally felt the misunderstandings and doubts caused by cultural differences for the first time, but this It also taught me how to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds.
